About Us

Hello and welcome to my shop! My name is Judith and I am the owner and maker for Spotted Hippo Creative. I'm an Army veteran, wife, and mother of two young adults, living in Maryland. Spotted Hippo Creative makes custom glitter and alcohol ink tumblers.

I've been creating handcrafted items in one form or another since the early 1990's. Spotted Hippo Creative was established in 2003, specializing in individualized care packages to service members stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq. As an Army veteran, I wanted to provide families a way to send their loved ones unique items.

After leaving the Army I began working in the nonprofit marketing and fundraising management field. Spotted Hippo Creative has gone through several changes over the years - from those first care packages to service members; to handcrafted upcycled scarves and t-shirts; to cookies and cakes.

Fast forward early 2020 and I found myself leaving my career to take on the role of caretaker to a parent. As the pandemic changed my family role even more, I began creating arts and crafts as a way to do something I loved and entirely for my enjoyment. By July 2022, I had found tumbler making and was immediately hooked! I'm excited to be kicking off the Spotted Hippo Creative brand again to bring my passion for creating these tumblers to you!

These are all handcrafted and can be customized in any way - we'll be creative together to come up with your own special tumbler! They're also be ready to sell tumblers for those who'd like to purchase something already made.
